Senior Business Development Manager

About the Role
You will play a strategic role across the organisation, with comprehensive responsibility for identifying, securing, closing and nurturing high-value new business opportunities. You will leverage your experience to identify, analyse, and cultivate relationships with clients across Europe. Your strategic insight will drive pitches, proposals, and contracting, and you will generate business cases for critical investment decisions.
This role reports to the Chief Commercial Officer.
Primary Responsibilities
As the Senior Business Development Manager, you will spearhead high-impact business development initiatives that shape our strategic direction and drive substantial growth. Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Leading Strategic Opportunity Identification: Overseeing the identification and comprehensive analysis of new and emerging market opportunities, formulating robust strategic business cases, and delivering executive-level recommendations.
- Initiating and Cultivating Strategic Relationships: Establishing and nurturing long-term strategic relationships with key client stakeholders, leveraging these partnerships to drive business growth and market penetration.
- Innovating Customer Solutions: Developing and implementing innovative solutions to address complex customer needs, ensuring seamless execution and high client satisfaction.
- Delivering Impactful Commercial Pitches & Crafting Sophisticated Proposals: Developing and presenting compelling commercial pitches to high-profile clients and potential partners, effectively communicating our value proposition.
- Closing New Business Contracts: Leading the development of comprehensive commercial proposal documents, including sophisticated pricing models, and managing the entire contract negotiation and signing process to deliver in line with budget.
- Professionalising Business Development: Driving the further professionalisation and strategic evolution of our Business Development department, setting high standards and implementing best practices.
- Ensuring Cross-Functional Alignment: Ensuring seamless communication and alignment between interdisciplinary teams, integrating marketing activities, business priorities, and operational delivery to achieve cohesive and impactful outcomes.
You'll have
- A bachelors or advanced degree (or demonstrable equivalent experience).
- Progressive experience in business development and sales within the healthcare sector, with a proven track record of securing high-value deals and partnerships.
- Experience in generating new business and leading high-level client interactions, leveraging a network of industry contacts.
- A sophisticated analytical toolbox and a profound commercial understanding, capable of driving strategic decision-making and complex problem-solving.
- Experience in digital health, life sciences (pharmaceutical or medical device companies), or management consulting is highly preferred.
- A visionary, strategic mindset, with a proactive and hands-on approach to leadership and execution.
- A passion to transform healthcare through innovative, impactful solutions and have demonstrated this through successful initiatives and projects in your career.
